DVD Replication is the most cost-effective process for making DVDs and is typically used for orders of 500 or more
discs. Evatone's precise DVD replication process involves using your master disc to create a glass master, which is
then used to create a metal stamper that is placed into a molding press. Plastic is injected into the molds, and
an exact copy of your master disc is "pressed." The video is perfectly replicated by a series of "pits"
on the shiny, playing side of the disc.
Evatone provides complete pre-mastering services with the ability to work from various storage media – and with
just about any format you supply. Our preferred format for mastering is DLT written in compliance with the DVD
specifications. With pre-mastering, glass mastering and optical disc DVD replication, we use our expertise to
create consistent, clear DVDs. Up to 5-color screen-printing is available – process or PMS.
For superior DVD protection, Evatone is a Macrovision authorized authoring and replication facility. We insert
Macrovision bits during the authoring process. These activation bits remain a part of the program through the
mastering and replication stages. The activation bits then instruct an integrated circuit within the playback
device to add Macrovision copy protection to the outgoing analog video. The copy protection is transparent when
content is viewed, but prevents or substantially degrades copies made on recording devices.
DVD duplication is a process typically used for quick turnaround on small jobs of less than 500 pieces. The video
is duplicated on the disc by means of a series of dots and dashes burned into a photosensitive layer by a laser
beam. When the disc is played, it translates the dots and dashes back into the original video from your master.
